Welcome
Reception - Tuesday 30th November Old Government House is one of Queensland’s most significant heritage buildings. It was the site of many key events in Queensland’s early history and architecturally it remains as a vital link to our colonial past. Completed in 1862, it was the home of Queensland’s governors until 1910. The House successively became the University of Queensland’s inaugural building, then the lecture rooms of Queensland University of Technology and the office of the National Trust of Queensland. It was the first building in Queensland to be heritage listed in 1978.
